Your tour of the Sydney Opera House takes you behind the scenes of one of the worldâ€™s most iconic performance venues, where more than 1,500 concerts, plays, musicals and ballets are staged every year. Explore it with an insider guide, who shares stories and fun facts about the opera houseâ€™s history, performances and architecture throughout your 1-hour tour.

Walk through the elegant foyers, visit one of the largest pillar-free chambers in the world, sit down in a custom-made white birch chair and look up at the vaulted ceiling. Check out areas that are off-limits to the general public, learn about the distinctive exterior design made up of â€˜shellâ€™ tiles, and hear about opera houseâ€™s Danish architect, including his inspiration and building challenges.

Please note the standard guided tour contains approx. 200 stairs - Low Impact. If you have limited mobility there is a daily 12:00pm access tour available on request pre-booking is required please contact the supplier directly.

Infants under 5 are permitted on the 1 hour tour free of charge, however still require a ticket to be booked

I have taken this tour several times - both as a resident of Sydney and as a visitor and it never disappoints. The architecture of building is beautiful and the history is fascinating. the tour guides really know their stuff and provide substantial colour. I highly recommend.

We have been to Sydney before just ended up walking around the opera house every time. We never actually appreciated what was inside. If you only visit once, then certainly take the tour.

I have just been on the tour. I believe the advertising bordered on misleading. We did not see anything that was 'normally off-limits' to the public, nothing behind the scenes. We only saw inside theatres that were open to the public when seeing shows. We did not see either of the two big theatres. The concert theatre was closed for refurbishment, which was not noted in the advertising. Quite disappointed.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable and informative experience on the Sydney opera house Behind the Scenes night tour. Our guide "Bruce " was knowledgeable and interesting and obviously enjoys his job. Refreshment and canapes served were light and fresh. All in all a great evening. My wifes first trip to the Opera house and a great introduction!

I loved touring the inside and outside of the Opera House. It was beautiful. A very interesting design with so much fascinating history, controversy, sadness and triumph! I would definitely recommend when visiting Sydney.
