About Magnetic Island Round-Trip Ferry From Townsville

On land, almost 70 percent of the island is protected by national parks. You can walk along nearly 15 miles (24 km) of walking trails in varied terrain. Wildlife thrives here, as Magnetic Island is well known as the home to the largest population of Koalaâ€™s in Northern Australia.

The only self-contained island in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, Magnetic Island has modern conveniences such as shops, spas, hotels and banks within reach of pristine wilderness areas.

Horseshoe Bay was great. Make sure to hire a jetski and go to the markets. Great live music and lots of shade if you need it.

Loved the ferry over to mgnetic island, (since we missing cruising). Nice smooth ride over and back. Very enjoyable. Went over for the day & hired a car.

Enjoyed a comfortable ride to Magetic Island. Just be careful where you book it. It is cheaper to buy at the ferryterminal if you have a concession card. I was worried about not getting on to get to the tour I booked so bought it through here with the 10 percent voucher I was sent. Would have saved half the fare buying on a concession at the terminal. Plenty of seats despite being Good Friday. No where on line could I find ferry fares or a timetable. This is an oversight that should be fixed as not everyone is a local.

Excellent service departing on time for the 25 minute service across to Magnetic Island. Our return service was as good as the morning service, with the seas calm.

This was a pleasure to travel on. Well run, with plenty of daily services. All staff were very friendly and helpful. There was an informative safety message and information regarding the many activities on Magnetic Island.

We travelled on Magnetic Island Ferry today and found it a very pleasurable journey, the staff were very helpful, all timetables were exactly as expected, we thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Lovely trip, friendly staff, awesome commentary with information enruite. Beautiful scenery to watch on the trip. Parenting Grandparents travelling with 17 yr old girl.

Its a very organised service from townsville to magnetic island. The ferry is very clean and modern. Its a quick ride to the island only about 30minutes.
