There were 7 in our group and we all loved it! John Paul our tour guide was excellent and the chocolate factory is a must especially if you have children. The penguin experience is incredible! All of a sudden, hundreds of penguins show up on the beach and march to their homes. It's an hour of being in awe. It is cold so bring warm clothes.
Great tour. Some very good stops on the way to Phillip island. Amazing coastal views, Wildlife sanctuary was good Seeing the wallabies in the wild was so cool. The March of the penguins was something to see. Our tour guide Kurt was also awesome. Very informative, and funny. He really helped make the trip even more enjoyable.
The penguin parade was very good, it's great seeing them come in off the beach. One thing to be aware of is you can't take any photos. The rest of the tour was ok, we stopped off in what was basically a deserted town for lunch, the wildlife sanctuary was enjoyable. But it felt like the tour could be condensed into 4 hours rather than the 12 as the rest of the stop offs seemed pointless
Driver tour guide JP was excellent. Too bad we had bit of late start, not sure why some people cannot show up on time at pickup location. Comfortable vehicle and drive down to region. Park experience with Koalas and roos lots of fun as was visit to Nobbies. The Antarctic experience done in conjunction with WWF was well done, esp the screen with all the animals showing up in pictures with you! The Penguin experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Australia and rangers were great. Too bad some people do not understand the no photography rule when most people are complying. The march of the penguins up the beach past the viewing platform was amazing.
JB, our very able guide, took us on a wonderful journey to the Maru animal sanctuary. We fed the Roos, and emus, saw the tassi devils among other Aussie critters. We then drove to Phillip Island finding the fairy penguin burrows in the hillsides. The fairy chicks were coming out of their homes looking for their dinner and parents. As darkness arrived, the parents began their daily walk from the sea to feed the chicks. Hundreds of them marched by the platform as we watched in awe. JB told us exactly where to stand to get the best view of the penguins. So tiny. We were within two feet of them! For all to remember, there is NO LIVE PHOTOGRAPHY THERE!!! A flash from a camera will blind the penguins making them unable to search for food at sea, hide from predators above ground or at sea. JB did a great job getting us back to our hotels on such a late nite. You will be treated to a wonderful day visiting Phillip Island with JB as your terrific guide. Thx JB! New Jersey!!
Really recommend this 12 hour trip. Has everything you need to know Phillip Island plus the fabulous Maru wildlife experience. You get in contact with the animals easy and naturally. Do not recommend paying for the koala experience. There are many koalas to watch very close and standing by and touching the animal, I believe it is no worth it. But it is an individual choice. The tour was great and the guide, do not remember his name, was yesterday thursday 16, also very good.
I booked this tour as a solo traveller and it did not disappoint. Our guide Shannara was fantastic and upbeat. She made sure that we got the most out of our day and armed us with tips and tricks that we needed to know. I would definitely recommend for people to try this tour if you love wildlife.
